Bhupendrabhai Patel honor Gujarat’s achievers
On the occasion of Gujarat Gaurav Divas, Governor Shri Acharya Devvrat and Chief Minister Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel honored the best of Gujarat with Garima Award at Patan district. The Gujarat Garima Award honored five individuals with state honors while 15 people serving in various fields in Patan district were honored.
On the eve of Gujarat Foundation Day celebrations held at Patan, Gujarat's distinctive tradition of honoring the best has reached new heights. On this occasion, the Chief Minister announced a special grant of Rs. 2.5 crore for the development of municipalities and an additional Rs. 2.5 crore for the development of the district.
Shri Acharya Devvart, Governor of Gujarat, on the eve of Gujarat Foundation Day, Gujarat Gaurav Divas-2022, sent his best wishes to the citizens of the state at the ‘Gujarat Gashe Patan Gaan’ program, saying that all round development of Gujarat is a source of inspiration for other states.
The Governor said that Gujaratis from all over the world have won the hearts of the people through their ingenuity and manliness. He said that Gujarat has achieved new heights of development under the able leadership of the then Chief Minister of Gujarat and Prime Minister of the country Shri Narendrabhai Modi, and under the leadership of Chief Minister of the State Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel, Gujarat has delivered the fruits of development to each and everyone. On this auspicious occasion, the Governor said that in order to realize the vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi for a self-reliant India, every citizen of the state should resolve to work with full dedication and establish Gujarat on a new dimension of development.
He said that the then Chief Minister and Prime Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi started celebrating national festivals not at Gandhinagar but at the district level and has made these national festivals a true folk festival and development festival.
Mentioning that Gujarat is the land of great men, the Governor said that many great men like Mahatma Gandhiji, Sardar Patel, Vikram Sarabhai and Maharshi Dayanand Saraswatiji have been born on this earth. He also said that Gujarat has taken care of India's cultural heritage. The Governor on this occasion requested all to adopt natural agriculture for the protection of water-land environment, for the conservation and breeding of native cows, for the attainment of healthy food and for the prosperity of the farmers as well as the prosperity of the farm. He also urged the next generation to strive for freedom from addiction, education and culture and to contribute towards building a better India.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel said that the new era of development politics that Gujarat has developed in the last two decades is based on the visionary leadership of Shri Narendrabhai Modi, who ruled Gujarat two decades ago. Following his steadfast steps, Gujarat has progressed many times in the last two-and-a-half decades from where it was in the four decades from 1960 to 2000.
There are many areas in the country and the state today in which Narendra Bhai Modi's initiative of achievement has become result oriented, following which Gujarat is also at such a height of development that the whole world is attracted towards Gujarat. He added that experts and economists from developed nations of the country and the world have been impressed by Gujarat's uninterrupted development journey today.
Referring to the celebration of Gujarat Foundation Day held at Patan, the Chief Minister said that Anhilpur, the ancient land of Patan, Lothal and Dholavira is also the land of the glorious history of Gujarat freedom struggle. He added that this land has given public servants like Gandhi-Sardar-Shyamji Krishnavarma-Ravi Shankar Maharaj and Induchacha an opportunity to remember such servants as Gujarat Gaurav Divas.
The Chief Minister said that the path of advanced development has been paved in the footsteps of Shri Narendrabhai Modi to keep Gujarat moving continuously and uninterruptedly. Gujarat is moving forward on the same path today. Proof of this is the climate change department started by Gujarat, the largest solar park in Charankama and the Jyotigram scheme which provides 24 hours electricity.
The present state government is also moving at a fast pace. It has provided electricity connections to 7.65 lakh farmers at a cost of Rs 11,815 crore in the last 20 years. It has also decided to erect 500 new mobile towers in tribal areas at a cost of Rs 100 crore in the next two years.
Mentioning that the state government has taken a sensible decision even in the day to day affairs affecting the people, the Chief Minister said that the limit of income certificates issued by e-Gram Vishwagram Kendra at the village level has been increased from one year to three years. In addition to validating the handicap certificate for life, it has been decided to validate the self-declaration by waiving the affidavit for government work.
At the same time, the monthly pension under the destitute old age pension scheme has been increased from Rs. 750 to Rs.1000 The state government has also taken a sensible decision to increase the monthly pension for the destitute above 1000 and above 80 years from Rs.1000 to Rs.1250. The Chief Minister also outlined a significant increase of 42 per cent in this year's budget for women's empowerment.
On this occasion, Patan District in-charge as well as Co-operation Minister Shri Jagdishbhai Vishwakarma in his welcome speech said that our Gujarat has been preserving its cultural heritage since its inception. While the historical land of Patan has given us many dignitaries, the celebration of the founding day at Patan in the district level celebration series on the national day will establish a new height.
He added that the state government under the leadership of soft but strong-minded Chief Minister Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel is moving ahead in the politics of development. The best personalities of Gujarat have been honored with 'Gujarat Garima Award 2022' in which Shri Prafulchandra Mansukhbhai Sejalia in the field of agriculture, Shri Dr. Pratapbhai Pandya in the field of literature and education, Shri Nileshbhai Mandlewal in the field of social service, Anvi Vijay Zanzarukia in the field of sports and yoga, Shri Kirtidan Gadhvi in the field of art have been honored with 'Gujarat Garima Award 2022'
Apart from this, Shri Maheshbhai Bhansali of Patan district, Bharatbhai Shah on behalf S K Trust of Patan, JK Patel on behalf of Indian Red Cross Society Patan, Mr. Beba Seth (GG Thakkar), Mr. Bharatbhai Kantilal Salvi, Jayshree Hadkai Mata Pragati Mandal, Thakor Chandrikaben Rupaji and team, Mrs. Tanviben Himanshabhai, Mr. Tanil R. Kilachand, Shri Navinbhai Thakkar, Shri Palkar Asana, Mr. Maktaba Jafaria Campus Siddhpur, Ms. Nirmaben Bharatji Thakor, Mr. Mohanbhai Bajania, Mr. Dineshbhai Thakor were honored with awards for their service rendered in various fields on Gujarat Gaurav Divas.
On this occasion, a book prepared by Vikas Vatika and Gujarat Sahitya Parishad prepared by the District Information Office under the guidance of Patan District Administration was released by the dignitaries.
Literary writer Shri Vishnubhai Pandya, leading industrialist Shri Karasanbhai Patel, Education Minister Shri Jitubhai Vaghani, MP Shri Bharatsinh Dabhi, MLAs, District Collector Shri, District Development Officer and other officials were present on the occasion.
