Prime Minister Narendra Modi Unveils Transformative Development Projects Worth Over Rs 34,400 Crores In Chhattisgarh

In a momentous virtual event, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated, dedicated to the nation, and laid the foundation stones for a series of ambitious development projects in Chhattisgarh under the 'Viksit Bharat Viksit Chhattisgarh' program. The projects, valued at over Rs 34,400 crores, span critical sectors including Roads, Railways, Coal, Power, and Solar Energy.
Addressing the gathering, Prime Minister Modi extended his greetings to the lakhs of families connected to the program from all constituencies in Chhattisgarh. He underscored the importance of empowering the youth, women, poor, and farmers for the creation of a developed Chhattisgarh. The Prime Minister emphasized that the inaugurated projects would generate new opportunities for the people of the state.
Among the highlighted projects is the dedication of NTPC’s Super Thermal Power Project to the nation, which is expected to reduce electricity costs for citizens. Prime Minister Modi also underscored the government’s commitment to making Chhattisgarh a hub for Solar Energy. He announced the dedication of solar power plants in Rajnandgaon and Bhilai, designed to supply electricity to nearby regions even during the night.
PM Modi unveiled the PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity scheme, aimed at reducing electricity bills to zero for 1 crore households across the country. The government plans to provide financial aid directly into bank accounts for setting up rooftop solar panels, ensuring 300 units of electricity are made free, with excess production being bought back by the government, providing additional income for citizens.
Commending the achievements of the double-engine government in Chhattisgarh, PM Modi highlighted the fulfillment of promises to farmers, including the disbursal of pending bonuses. He also noted the successful implementation of schemes like PM Awas and Har Ghar Nal se Jal.
In his address, PM Modi critiqued previous governments' myopic and selfish dynastic politics for impeding progress in the state. He assured the people that their dreams were his resolutions and pledged to work tirelessly towards the development of Viksit Bharat and Viksit Chhattisgarh.
Drawing attention to his government’s anti-corruption efforts, PM Modi mentioned strong action against those who have looted citizens' money. He highlighted the utilization of recovered funds for the welfare of the poor, including free ration, medical treatment, affordable medicines, housing, piped water, gas connections, and toilets. The Prime Minister concluded by expressing confidence that the developmental works inaugurated would propel Chhattisgarh to new heights in the next five years. He encouraged the youth, especially first-time voters, to see Viksit Chhattisgarh as an opportunity to fulfill their dreams.
In addition to the power project dedication, the Prime Minister inaugurated First Mile Connectivity (FMC) projects, boosting coal evacuation efficiency, and a Solar PV Project in Rajnandgaon. Rail infrastructure received a significant boost with the dedication of the Bilaspur – Uslapur Flyover, aimed at reducing traffic congestion. These transformative projects are poised to contribute to Chhattisgarh's growth, aligning with the Prime Minister's vision of a developed and prosperous India.
