Discussions on Increasing Investments in Automobiles, Renewable Energy, Green Ammonia, and Infrastructure Projects in Gujarat

       Consul General of Japan Mr. Yagi Koji Pays a Courtesy Visit to Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel in Gandhinagar. During his visit to Gujarat, Consul General Mr. Yagi Koji expressed pleasure and emphasized the strong relations and strategic global partnership between Japan, India, and Gujarat, credited to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's vision. He stated that these ties have opened new avenues for business and economic relations, driven by the success of the Vibrant Global Summit, which has encouraged numerous Japanese industries to invest in Gujarat.

Mr. Yagi Koji also mentioned Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel's successful visit to Japan. Additionally, he announced Suzuki Motors' expansion project in Gujarat at the Vibrant Summit 2024 and noted the willingness of Japanese semiconductor manufacturing companies to collaborate with Indian counterparts and establish a presence in Gujarat.

Appreciating this interest, Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel assured that the state government will provide necessary help in selecting and allocating the required site and land for such projects. The Chief Minister praised Japan's participation in the consecutive vibrant successes of the Vibrant Summit. During the meeting, the Consul General noted the investment potential in Gujarat beyond automobiles and semiconductors, particularly in renewable energy and green ammonia projects. He discussed expanding Japan's presence in infrastructure projects such as Metro Rail and Dedicated Freight Corridor, among others, in Gujarat. The Consul General thanked the Chief Minister for the complete support of the state government to Japanese companies and industries operating in Gujarat. As India-Japan friendship marks 50 years, the meeting discussed planning cultural relations alongside business and economy, organized by Honorary Counsel of Japan in Gujarat, Shri Mukesh Patel. Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel presented the Consul General with a memento crafted by artisans from Kutch.

Advisor to Chief Minister and Chairman of Metro Rail Corporation Shri Rathore, Additional Chief Secretary to Chief Minister Shri Pankaj Joshi, Additional Chief Secretary of Industries Department Shri S.J. Haider, Secretary to Chief Minister Smt. Avantika Singh, senior officials, and Honorary Counsel of Japan in Gujarat Shri Mukesh Patel joined the meeting.
